China's National Bureau of Statistics General Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) has decreased from a 6-month high.

China's NBS Composite PMI Output Index decreased to 49.8 in January 2026 from December's six-month high of 50.7. Both manufacturing and services activities declined after experiencing growth in December, due to the normalization of demand after the holidays and more stringent cost conditions.
